Delta Days at the State Capitol*
An annual legislative forum is conducted to bring Deltas from across the state to meet with their state representatives and senators to engage in dialogue on issues and bills that are of importance to their personal and communal well-being.

Healthy Lifestyles
The Healthy Lifestyles Program allows individuals to gain knowledge and
actively participate in programs that cultivate lifestyles that
increase the well being of their mind, body and spirit.
Get Out to Vote Project
Voter Registration Drive in San Francisco, and surrounding communities. Included door to door voter registration, phone banking, and organized efforts to ensure our communities were informed, registered, and ready to enact their constitutional right to vote.
Please
continue to support our efforts by continuing to register voters, and staying active and informed of the political affairs of our country.
Held September 2008 and Phone Banking on October 30, 2008.
United Negro College Fund (UNCF) Walk for Education
Each year, UNCF/Northern California hosts its 5K walk/run to fund the continued operations of UNCF´s network of 39 historically black colleges and universities. Approximately 2,000 California students enroll in historically black colleges and universities each year.
Please support our efforts by registering to walk, sponsoring walkers, donating to UNCF, and/or attending the event.

Macy´s Community Shopping Day
Community Shopping Day is an all-day shopping event dedicated to raising funds for local nonprofit organizations. By purchasing a Macy's Community Shopping Day ticket directly from a SFAC member, ticket bearers will help raise funds to support SFAC´s Community Foundation, and enjoy exclusive 10-20% savings at Macy's, exciting events, special samplings from event sponsors, and the chance to win a $500 Macy's shopping spree. In addition to SFAC members, Macy´s employees will be involved in the fundraising event by selling tickets to their customers three weeks prior to Community Shopping Day. Macy's will split all funds raised by their employees among participating charities.

Nordstrom's Community Shopping Day
Community Shopping Day is an all-day shopping event dedicated to
raising funds for local nonprofit organizations. By purchasing a
Nordstrom's Community Shopping Day ticket directly from a SFAC member,
ticket bearers will help raise funds to support SFAC´s Community
Foundation, and enjoy exclusive 10-20% savings at Nordstrom. In
addition to SFAC members, Nordstrom employees will be involved in the
fundraising event by selling tickets to their customers and will
splitting all funds raised by their employees among participating
charities.

47th Farwest Regional Conference, Anchorage, Alaska*
A family friendly conference hosted by the Farwest Region of Delta
Sigma Theta, Inc. Conference Theme: "A Legacy of Knowledge, Networking,
and Leadership"
Conference Project: "Give the gift of sight" – Goal, to donate 1000
pairs of prescription eyewear to benefit those in need, and unable to
afford them.
Please support our efforts by donating prescription eyewear, and/or fundraising efforts for conference registration.

The Delta Sigma Theta, Inc., San Francisco Alumnae Chapter Sorors
sponsor the following Programs and Events locally, as well as all
national and chapter programs deemed part of Delta Sigma Theta's Five
Point Thrust.
Dr. Betty Shabaaz Delta Academy
The Dr. Betty Shabazz Academy is a Youth Enrichment Program for young ladies between the ages of 11 through 14. We enrich and enhance our young teens´ education, self-esteem, and futures by way of augmenting their scholarship in math and science, their opportunities to provide service to their community, and the cultivation and maintenance of relationships in their lives. Dr. Jeanne L. Noble Delta G.E.M.S. (Growing and Empowering Myself Successfully)
Delta GEMS is a outgrowth and expansion for the continuation of the
"Dr. Betty Shabaaz Delta Academy". Delta GEMS is program for adolescent
girls between the ages of 14 through 18. The goals for Delta GEMS include to instill the need to excel academically, to provide tools to sharpen and enhance their skills to achieve high levels of academic success, to assist in proper goal setting and planning for their futures high school and beyond, and to create compassionate, caring and
community minded young women through involvement in service learning and community service opportunities. The Delta GEMS Program's e-mail address is

Scholarship Committee
The Education and Scholarship Committee raises funds annually to
support graduating high school students in the service area throughout
their undergraduate career. The Committee develops and implements
criteria for awarding scholarships for designated groups and provides
scholarships to students in both academic and fine arts.
Social Action Committee
The Social Action Committee plans and develops programs to keep with
the needs of the community and the objectives of the Social Action
Commission of Grand Chapter. The goals of the Social Action Committee
include to develop knowledge of the current local and national issues
so within the chapter, to encourage active participation in political
activity, and to influence the enactment of legislation on a local and
national level. The San Francisco Alumnae Chapter sponsors and supports
the following events:

- Delta Days at the State Capitol
- Delta Days at the Nation´s Capitol
- Meets the Candidates

Commitees
The San Francisco Alumnae Chapter has approximately 25 active
committees. The following are a few of our more visible committees:
Arts & Letters
The Arts and Letters Committee hosts and employs many activities to
enlighten, expand, and preserve the Arts & Letters of African
Americans in Fine, Literary, and Performing Arts in San Francisco,
Marin City, and surrounding communities.
Education & Scholarship
The Education and Scholarship Committee raises funds annually to
support graduating high school students in the service area throughout
their undergraduate career. The Committee develops and implements
criteria for awarding scholarships for designated groups and provides
scholarships to students in both academic and fine arts.
Financial Fortitude
The Financial Fortitude Program assists Sorors and their local
communities in realizing the goals of personal wealth and financial
security by providing financial education through workshops and
seminars.
